About the Role:
As a Teaching Assistant - Behaviour Specialist, you will support students with diverse learning needs by planning and delivering small group interventions tailored to their requirements. You will work collaboratively with teachers to create an inclusive classroom environment, helping special educational needs (SEN) students develop essential social skills and self-regulation.
Responsibilities of the Teaching Assistant - Behaviour Specialist: Assist students with challenging behaviours by implementing individualised behaviour management plans and strategies.Collaborate with teachers to create a positive and inclusive classroom environment that promotes learning and emotional well-being.Support students in developing social skills and self-regulation techniques through targeted interventions.Monitor and assess student progress, providing feedback to teachers and parents to ensure continuous improvement.Foster strong relationships with students, promoting trust and encouraging positive interactions.Attend training and professional development sessions to stay updated on best practices in behaviour management and special education.Work closely with other support staff and specialists to ensure comprehensive support for students with diverse needs.Requirements of the Teaching Assistant - Behaviour Specialist: Relevant qualifications, such as a Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistant certification or equivalent.Previous experience working with children or young people, especially those with challenging behaviours or special educational needs (SEN).Strong understanding of behaviour management techniques and strategies.Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with students, teachers, and parents.Patience, empathy, and a proactive approach to supporting students' emotional and social development.Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.Have an updated CV and an enhanced DBS registered to the update service (or be willing to apply for one).If you are an enthusiastic and compassionate Teaching Assistant - Behaviour Specialist ready to inspire and support students in their learning journey, we encourage you to apply and join our client school in Christchurch!
