Salisbury School is a unique residential specialist school located in the heart of Richmond, Tasman. We provide short-term education for girls aged 8–15 years with complex learning needs, focusing on building strengths and capabilities within an inclusive and nurturing environment. Transition planning is central to our work, as we collaborate with home schools and whanau from across the country to create successful pathways for our akonga.
We are seeking a passionate, skilled, and collaborative teacher to join our dedicated team. This is a permanent part-time role, working Monday afternoons and all day Tuesdays. As a job-share position, these working days are not negotiable. This role involves working closely with small groups of students, tailoring learning to meet diverse needs, and contributing to our innovative, wraparound approach to education.
We are looking for:
A qualified teacher (specialist qualifications ideal) with proven excellence in teaching.
Strong knowledge of the NZ Curriculum , including planning, assessment, and adaptive teaching.
Familiarity with structured literacy, numeracy, and current best practices in pedagogy.
A collaborative professional who will thrive in a job-share position with a like-minded professional.
A compassionate educator with the ability to connect with diverse learners, including those with complex needs and challenging behaviors.
