Health and Physical Education

We are excited to welcome a Teacher of Physical Education and Health to our growing department. While an experienced teacher would be a welcome addition, this role is also suitable for a beginning teacher eager to develop their skills and make a positive impact on student wellbeing and physical development. Outdoor education experience could be an advantage.
Ormiston Senior College is a Y11–13 school with a focus on student agency and personalised learning .

An enthusiasm for teaching Physical Education and Health
Experience and ability to work with and support Maori and Pacific akonga
A commitment to collaborative teaching and learning within and across curriculum areas
The ability to establish strong relationships with akonga and whanau
A developing understanding of matauranga Maori and its significance in Health and PE
A desire to honour obligations under Te Tiriti o Waitangi
All members of our teaching staff also serve as learning advisors , guiding and supporting students in their academic and personal growth.
This position will commence January 27, 2025 , at the start of Term 1 .
