Founded in Christchurch by Sir Angus Tait, we now have a network of customers and offices that spans the globe.Due to company growth, we have an exciting opportunity for a Tax and Treasury Accountant to join our global Finance team, based in our state-of-the-art head offices in Christchurch.Te Turanga - The RoleReporting to the Tax and Treasury Manager, this role supports the day-to-day management of tax compliance and treasury to ensure appropriate management of risk.
In this role, you will undertake tax compliance and risk management, contribute to the management of company cash resources and funding (including providing appropriate visibility of cash resources through regular reporting), and contribute to the ongoing management of the Group's exposure to foreign exchange risk.Your key responsibilities will include:Preparation of GST, NRWT and FBT returns for the New Zealand TaitPreparing or working with external advisors for the preparation of income tax returns for the New Zealand and overseas Tait entitiesWorking with the wider Finance team, Regional Financial Controllers and external tax advisors to provide tax advice as required.Preparing daily/weekly reporting on the Group cash position and cash flow forecastsWorking with the Tax and Treasury Manager and CFO in determining a suitable hedging strategy for the Tait GroupProviding day to day support to Tait staff on company insurances (such as claims or queries).O pukenga - About YouTo be successful in this role, you will have:3+ years of experience in a similar position either in Big or Mid-Tier accounting firms with large sized clients, or commercial experience in a tax or treasury roleGood technical skills and knowledge of NZ tax, and open to expanding knowledge of international taxAdvanced Microsoft and Excel skillsExcellent interpersonal skills; self-drive and results orientedAble to work independently with minimal guidance.In addition to the above, we would be interested in hearing from candidates with knowledge of foreign exchange, liquidity, cashflow and various financial instruments, as well as experience working with systems such as SAP S4 HANA.Nga painga - what's in it for you?We are an employer that is committed to making a difference for families and communities and supporting people to build rewarding careers.
