The psychologist is responsible for providing highly specialist psychological assessment and interventions to patients with complex mental health difficulties. TACT psychologist will work closely with other clinicians with regard to complex case formulation and therapy interventions as appropriate in order to contribute to care planning. Professional Development is also supported through contract provisions. Mo to matou ropu - About our team TACT Team is a multidisciplinary team comprising of a psychiatrist, psychologist, social worker, and administration staff. We also have the support of a consumer consultant. TACT provides services to residents of the geographical area from Wellington to Kapiti. The team is indicated for those people with severe and persistent psychiatric disorders who have major functional disability in adult role functioning e.g. self-cares, social/interpersonal relationships and employment. TACT provides mental health support to individuals with complex, severe and enduring mental health difficulties. The team focuses on supporting individuals who historically have struggled to engage with standard community mental health team processes and are at higher risk of relapsing or admission into inpatient service. Mou - About you To provide high quality clinical psychology service in the assessment and treatment of clients, ensuring clients - needs are met in a culturally, clinically and legally safe manner. Clinical psychology is a discipline integrating psychological and associated science, theory and practice to understand and alleviate human suffering and disability as well as to promote individual and family/whanau development, adaptation and recovery. We are looking to recruit a Clinical Psychologist with: Postgraduate Diploma in Clinical Psychology or equivalent Registration with the NZ Psychology Board as a Registered Psychologist with a Clinical Scope of practice Current Practicing Certificate Proven psychological, psychometric and neuropsychological assessment skills Ability to work in a Multidisciplinary Team (MDT) and demonstrate values consistent with those of the MHAIDS Services. Committed to working within the principles of Te Tiriti o Waitangi. Capacity to practice in a manner that engages tangata whaiora/consumers/whanau from a range of different cultural backgrounds. Ability to work effectively with partner agencies in the community to meet a diverse range of needs.
