Au Mahi | What You Will Do
Are you passionate about technology and eager to support University staff and students with their cutting-edge research and teaching? As the Systems Support Technician at the School of Forestry, you'll bring your technical expertise to maintain and enhance our computer systems, specialised research equipment, and field activities. From managing our computer labs and software to supporting innovative data collection with tools like drones and GPS, you'll play a pivotal role in enabling our staff and students to excel. You'll also be hands-on in the field, assisting with equipment and contributing to impactful research initiatives. Mou | Who You Are
You have experience in Information and Communication Technology (ICT), ideally gained in large networked multi-user environments as well as the following:
Excellent interpersonal skills, as well as verbal and written communication skills
Competence in the use and basic troubleshooting of MS Word, Excel, Outlook, and computer hardware.
Experience with, or willingness to learn, spatial technologies and tools, like drones, GPS, and GIS
The ability to support occasional multi-day field trips around New Zealand
The ability to work effectively as part of a team as well as to work alone.
Are passionate about supporting students and their studies.

To produce forestry (Science and Engineering) graduates of the highest calibre who can manage forests and other natural resources and associated enterprises for a range of outcomes;
To undertake excellent & innovative research;
To be an independent voice on forestry issues and to be active in promoting forestry in the community;
To give effect to Treaty of Waitangi obligations.
