Full-time, Part-time & Casual Positions AvailableWe're looking for passionate Support Workers to join us in providing a place of standing, hope, recovery and wellness for tangata within Otepoti Dunedin. This is an opportunity to extend your skills and expertise within a supportive team setting and make a tangible difference to your own community.We have a number of Support Worker vacancies in Dunedin, where teams will be responsible for tangata with brain injuries, intellectual differences and/or mental health conditions.About The Role | Mo Te TungaYou will:Engage and develop good professional relationships with vulnerable people and their families, focusing on holistic wellbeing and promoting the citizenship of our tangata.Provide encouragement and day-to-day support in alignment with tangata recovery goals to achieve their goals of everyday living.Assist tangata to achieve the activities of everyday living with hands-on help where required.Support and complete plans including Behaviour, Risk Management, and Safety Plans.Manage and administer medication as required (certified staff only).Participate in the planning and review process.Monitor levels of wellbeing and ensure that any concerns/incidents or accidents are reported and documented accurately.Celebrate the successes of people achieving their recovery and wellbeing.Ensure an integrated approach by working closely with colleagues, community providers, clinical teams, and other external teams to encourage community participation.Be familiar and professional in completing Personal Cares and realize the positive outcomes this has for tangata.All shifts require some degree of weekend work.We are seeking passionate and experienced people to provide support to our tangata and to implement and meet our tangata health care needs.In this role, we want you to:Have a compassionate and caring nature with good communication skills and a strong work ethic.Hold a National Certificate in Health & Wellbeing (Level 4) or be working towards it.Be willing to commit to and support the bicultural journey that Stepping Stone Trust is on as we live out our partnership under Te Tiriti o Waitangi principles.Focus on the recovery of our service users by ensuring that their needs are met.Set and achieve agreed goals and activities of daily living.Provide support to senior staff and service users.Assist with meal preparation and housework.Have a certain degree of computer literacy.While experience working in the mental health sector is preferred, SST provides training and mentoring to gain knowledge and experience supported by our senior nurses.Our team is passionate about the service we provide, committed to the work we do, and supportive of each other.
