Reporting to the Charge Nurse Manager of Te Puna Wai Ora, this role fosters a culture within the unit that continues to strive for excellence in clinical services and focuses on patient centred care.
Mo te turanga - About the role
Our multi-disciplinary team provides care across the whole life spectrum including the following:
Paediatric and obstetric patients
Those requiring cardiothoracic, neurosurgery, and complex medical OR trauma care, including renal replacement
A retrieval service utilising helicopter and fixed wing flights
Key accountabilities of this role include the following:
Strategic leadership
Staff education
Development and recruitment
Financial management
Production planning
Quality and risk management
Operationally, you will turn your hand to supervision, mentoring, and developing relationships through close liaison with other services both internal and external.
Minimum Requirements:
Current NZ APC and relevant post graduate qualifications
A Senior Registered Nurse with significant Critical Care experience
You will bring a clear focused vision; strive for contemporary practice, and be 'firm, but fair' with the ability to inspire staff, being their advocate when needed
Proven success in nursing leadership will be complemented by your knowledge of, and experience in, clinical quality, safety, and best practice

Utu whanui - Salary range
This role belongs to the NZNO Collective Agreement and falls between Step 1 ($116,040 p.a) and Step 3 ($127,674 p.a pro-rata) of the Designated Senior Nurse scale Grade 2.
