We have a full-time, permanent position available in our beautiful Southern region for a Support Worker Team Leader role. This role supports our passionate team within the Southland area, and is based in Invercargill.

Access Community Health (Hauora-Tara-A-Whare) is a leading provider of home-based healthcare and support. Our nationwide teams of over 4,000 support workers and registered nurses support people to remain active, safe, and independent in their own homes and communities.
Lead from the front! Take charge and inspire your team to deliver exceptional home-based/community healthcare services that exceed expectations. As a Support Worker Team Leader, you will be responsible for:
Providing leadership and staff development.
Recruitment aspects and support to the Advanced Support Workers in the delivery of homecare support within your assigned region.
Consultation with care coordination and community nurse teams.
Liaising with the community clinical team and Trainer on their requirements for SW competency assessments.
Establishing rapport with Tangata and their whanau.
Implementing service delivery models aligned with our values, ensuring quality assurance, and meeting contractual requirements.
Developing strong relationships with key stakeholders.
You will have life experience, patience, empathy, and wisdom to share, with the ability to engage Tangata Whaiora. You will be able to build rapport with people who have experienced trauma and redirect unhelpful behaviour. Additionally, you will have plenty of resilience. Your initiative and proactive approach will be highly valued in your day-to-day work.
Minimum requirements include:
Excellent planning and organisational skills.
Strong oral and written communication skills.
Demonstrated leadership abilities and strategic thinking.
Interpersonal skills and the ability to understand and navigate diverse behaviours and expectations.
Strong negotiation and conflict resolution skills.
Sound judgement with the skills to manage risk and make tough decisions.
Sensitivity to equity issues, people with disabilities, and cultural and social needs.
IT literacy, including Microsoft Office and internet research.
