At NZCL, we are dedicated to supporting disabled people in New Zealand. Our Disability Support Services reflect our belief that all people deserve to live fully, have equal opportunities, and achieve their ambitions.
You will be part of a team that provides a safe environment where people can develop confidence and new skills, build friendships with peers, and interact with others in the community. Our teams are our greatest asset, and we are committed to employing and training the best people. NZCL is looking for energetic and motivated individuals to support people in their own homes.
We are looking for full-time/part-time support workers to help the people we support in our Masterton residential services.
What does a Support Worker do? This is a busy and diverse role, supporting people with various aspects of daily life and helping them do the things they want to do, such as going swimming, personal cares, support with meals, household management tasks, and teaching life skills. The list is endless! Support Workers are part of a team who work shifts or specific rosters providing 24/7 support, with the potential for additional sleepover payments included in some rosters.
Who are we looking for? People who are passionate about helping others, are kind, and understanding.
Previous experience in a healthcare setting is preferred, including experience with disabilities and challenging behaviors.
A full driver's license is essential.
Somebody who has the initiative to push people towards their goals, is energetic, outgoing, and can think outside the box. You need to be respectful of others' thinking and their way of living life that may be different from your own.
Flexibility to work overnight shifts across a roster, including weekends.
Empathy, respect, and cultural awareness are important in this role, as the people we support come from diverse backgrounds with varying needs and interests.
If you are passionate about supporting people, then maybe there is a role for you here. Send your request to NZCL.
Please bear in mind all applicants must be NZ Residents/Citizens or have a valid NZ work permit.
