This role is challenging but rewarding, offering the chance to make a real difference in people's lives.You'll:Work together to identify, set and reach their goals – to be healthier, do an activity or learn something new, developing a garden, being creative, or enjoying things in the communitySupport people with independent daily living skills – cooking, cleaning, gardening and everyday household tasksFocus on the individual's needs and provide culturally safe practiceComplete relevant administrative tasks, take comprehensive notes, provide effective handovers to the next shift, and support and collaborate with your colleaguesThis is a fixed term role covering maternity leave with the end date to be confirmed. You'll be working 24 hours per week working Sunday, Monday and Tuesday, 7:00am - 3:30pm, based in Nelson.You're non-judgemental and have a genuine desire to make a difference in the lives of those we support, and are prepared to do whatever it takesYou have high cultural competency, knowledge of, and demonstrable commitment to the principles of the Te Tiriti o WaitangiHold a current full and clean New Zealand driver's licenceHold a current comprehensive first aid certificate covering units 6400, 6401 and 6402 or be willing to obtain one within 3 months of employmentPreferred but not essential to hold the New Zealand Certificate in Health and Wellbeing (or a recognised equivalent) or be willing to commence study towards this qualification within six months of starting with us and complete it within 2 years.Closing date | Ra Katinga: 22 December 2024.Please note, this advert may close sooner if a suitable candidate is found.
