Wairau Hospital is seeking an enthusiastic, dedicated professional to join our Allied Health team. This is an excellent opportunity to work in a dynamic, supportive environment focused on improving patient outcomes and supporting the local community's well-being.

As an Occupational Therapist, you will play a key role in helping patients maximise their functional independence. You will work closely with a multidisciplinary team, including doctors, nurses, physiotherapists, and other healthcare professionals, to provide tailored rehabilitation services and support patients through their recovery process. Your responsibilities will include:
Conducting thorough assessments to determine patients' needs and creating individualized treatment plans.
Delivering therapy and interventions to improve patients' physical, cognitive, and psychosocial abilities.
Educating patients and their families on strategies for enhancing daily living activities and promoting overall well-being.
Collaborating with the healthcare team to ensure cohesive, comprehensive care.
Keeping accurate records and tracking patients' progress throughout their treatment journey.
The working hours are between 8am to 4:30pm Monday to Friday with no weekend on-call.
The full-time equivalent salary range is $77,087 to $107,600 (step 1-7) based on the current Allied, Public Health & Technical MECA, dependent on skills, experience, and registration in NZ.

To succeed in this role, apart from holding NZ registration in Occupational Therapy and a current practising certificate, you should have:
A strong foundation in occupational therapy practices, a collaborative mindset, and a commitment to delivering compassionate, patient-centred care.
Experience in a hospital or clinical setting is preferred.
Ability to work independently in a small team with a commitment to provide high standards of patient care.
Strong communication and teamwork skills.
Successful candidates must have a valid visa to work in New Zealand.
