Mo matou | About Hohepa
Working at Hohepa is different from the average; you become part of our community of people, staff, volunteers, and contractors who all have a common goal - helping people to reach their full potential and lead enriched and meaningful lives in a holistic, supportive environment. We are a community leader providing services and support for people living with an intellectual disability to live their best lives and find a valued place in our society. Inspired by Dr Rudolf Steiner's principles of anthroposophy, we seek to understand each person and situation as unique, not a one-size-fits-all philosophy.
Mo te turanga | About the Role
In this role, you will be supporting a woman who is learning to live independently in her flat on site at our Barrington Street Campus. Kelsey is in her 30s, and she needs support with food shopping preparation, choosing healthy options, and help with the housework.
Kelsey needs emotional support to encourage her to continue to grow and develop as an independent woman. Kelsey enjoys looking after her cat, going to community and anthroposophical events, art, swimming, and seeing her friends and family.
We need a confident person who can build strong relationships with the people we support, be empathetic, able to read situations, problem-solve, and apply boundaries or offer space. You will have the confidence to cook healthy meals from scratch and undertake accurate medication administration. You will be passionate about supporting people with an intellectual disability and helping them live a full life.
If you are looking for a new challenge, this could be the opportunity for you.
This position's salary scale is set by pay equity and depends on qualification level, paying between $23.15 and $28.25 per hour.
