About the Role
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Support Technician to join our team in Levin, New Zealand. This role is critical in ensuring the efficient and timely completion of pre-delivery inspections (PDIs) on new machinery, the safe loading and unloading of freight and containers, and the accurate diagnosis and repair of mechanical and electrical faults on Snorkel equipment, all while adhering to strict health and safety standards.
Key Responsibilities:
Conduct thorough inspections of new machinery to ensure it meets quality standards and customer specifications.
Identify and rectify any defects or issues prior to delivery.
Accurately complete documentation and checklists.
Safely load and unload freight and containers using forklift or other handling equipment.
Securely store equipment and materials in the workshop.
Troubleshoot and repair mechanical and electrical faults on Snorkel equipment.
Order and manage replacement parts.
Maintain accurate records of repairs and maintenance performed.
Assist the Parts and Service administrator as required.
Ensure timely picking and dispatch of orders.
Track shipments and provide updates to customers.
Handle returns and exchanges efficiently.
Assist with inventory control and stock management.
Identify and report any stock discrepancies.
Adhere to strict health and safety procedures and regulations.
Provide excellent customer service to both internal and external customers.
Build and maintain positive relationships with customers.
Qualifications and Skills:
MPI accredited person is preferred but not essential.
Forklift license or handling certificate.
Work at heights training certificate is preferred but not essential.
Valid driver's license.
Proven experience in mechanical and electrical repairs.
Strong knowledge of Snorkel products and parts is preferred but not essential.
Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Strong attention to detail.
Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
Excellent time management and organizational skills.
Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
