This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to meaningful ecological research while developing your skills in a dynamic environment!The position will be focussed on:tracking the lifecycle of samples and log them in our database upon receiptprocessing biodiversity samples following rigorous Quality Assurance (QA) steps according to established proceduresutilising sample management systems to support the biodiversity monitoring programidentifying and addressing QA issues, collaborating with the Technical Support Officer on patternsassisting with warehousing projects and manage sample storage and archiving.If you have some of the following, we are keen to hear from you:A relevant qualification in biology, ecology, botany or the natural sciences.Knowledge and practice experience in biodiversity monitoring methods.Confident handling of vascular samples, chew cards, and soil samplesData management and accurate data digitisation (data entry)Quick learner with proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel.Excellent instruction-following skills and a proactive approach to seeking clarification.Strong documentation skills to track progress effectively.Understanding of office protocol and professional etiquette.Clear and confident communication skills.Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.Working and delivering to tight timeframes.Mo te tima | About the teamThe Monitoring and Insights Directorate focuses on developing system-wide intervention logic to describe how DOC achieves its outcomes; to not only deliver conservation, but also to tell the story of what was achieved with supporting evidence.DOC places importance on developing a culture where everyone can participate, thrive, and grow.
