Position Overview:
The Executive Assistant to the General Secretary plays a critical role in providing comprehensive executive support to the General Secretary of the Methodist Church of New Zealand. The Executive Assistant will be responsible for meticulously tracking the implementation of Conference decisions, ensuring timely execution and effective communication of outcomes to relevant stakeholders. Project management skills will be required to manage these tasks. The Executive Assistant serves as a key liaison between the General Secretary, Church leadership, and external stakeholders, ensuring alignment with the Church's mission and objectives via the Decisions of Conference are met.
The person will need to be able to work closely with others and develop close relationships with both people within and outside of the Church to ensure that the objectives of the work are met within agreed timeframes set by either The Conference or the General Secretary.
