He angitutanga | About the role

We have an exciting opportunity for a diligent and proactive Support Officer to join our team and provide high quality assistance to our District Operations Managers in the Auckland Region. You'll take ownership of your role and act as a key administrative 'go-to' for the Operations Managers and their teams.

This role requires someone who enjoys working in a fast-paced environment, can prioritise several tasks at any one time, and is comfortable working unsupervised.

This position will be focused on:

Managing the diary scheduling, emails, and other correspondence as appropriate for multiple Operations Managers

Meeting support and taking minutes

Supporting a range of processes such as finance, asset management and personnel

Tracking of tasks, reports, and information due

Working with the District Leadership teams and Operations Managers across the region.

Assisting the Operations Managers to meet deadlines and other requirements.

Exceptional at organising work and people

Strong initiative and good judgment in handling critical tasks

Maintains focus while dealing with conflicting demands

Communication Skills

Strong oral and written communication skills

Proven experience in minute taking and report writing

Ability to engage with a wide range of people confidently

Able to handle confidential and sensitive material with discretion

Technical and Digital Proficiency

Digitally-savvy and confident in using various Microsoft applications (Word, Excel, Outlook)

Experience with varied software systems for example SAP

Personal Attributes and Additional Qualifications

Enthusiastic team player, adaptable, and able to prioritise work

Understands the work of the Department and its contribution to New Zealand's sustainability

Full New Zealand Driver's Licence

Able to attend meetings out of town

Knowledge of Tikanga Maori

The Regional Operations Group is responsible for delivering conservation work on the ground through our biodiversity, heritage and visitors, community engagement and visitor centre teams. The Group is organised into ten regions across New Zealand. The Auckland Region comprises four Districts: Hauraki Gulf Inner Islands, Aotea/Great Barrier Island, Tamaki Makaurau/Auckland Mainland, a new Auckland Marine district; and the national Conservation Dogs Programme.

Join the team and the conservation effort to manage a unique blend of biodiversity, threatened species, heritage and landscape across Auckland and the Hauraki Gulf. This role will have opportunities to get out and about in some of the most beautiful and remarkable parts of the Auckland region.
