Job Description Our Waihi operation is currently ramping up production so we have created this new position, to enhance our Health & Safety standards.
This will involve the development and continuous improvement of policies and procedures to ensure work site safety is of the highest standard.
The role wil also execute the sites Training Management Plan strategies for employees and contractors.
Key responsibilities Develop and facilitate the implementation of the Risk Management process, Principal Hazard Management Plans/Principal Control Plans, controlled documents, in a manner which meets best practice standards and ensures continual improvement in the reduction of incidents and injuries.
Ensure compliance with relevant legislation, internal IMS standards and industry standards.
Drive the development of a Health and Safety culture based on interdependence and accountability which is identifiable at all levels of operations, underpinned by the site's safety behavioural program.
Manage the internal and external audit requirements for Health and Safety, and make recommendations for enhancements and improved performance relating to non-compliance issues.
Effectively manage 5 Health & Safety / Training professionals.
Manage site incident investigations to identify causes and establish controls to prevent reoccurrence.
Develop and manage the business units Integrated Management System that is aligned to ISO 45001 and ISO 31000.
Monitor and report on Health and Safety trends and provide recommendations for enhancements/improvements.
Manage the site's Learning and Development strategies, inline with the Training Management Plan and industry best practice Qualifications A tertiary qualification preferred, accompanied by relevant experience or extensive experience in Health and Safety management and training.
Lead incident investigation training (ICAM or similar) Auditing qualification 27565/7093 NZQA Workplace Trainer qualifications (or similar) Full and current driver licence, ability to drive manual vehicles is preferred Minimum of ten (10) years of experience within a heavy manufacturing or mining environment and five (5) years in a Health and Safety, or Training role.
Comprehensive knowledge and understanding of current New Zealand Health and Safety legislation, Australian/New Zealand Standards and relevant Codes of Practice.
