This role reports to Tumuaki Rautaki a Iwi me nga Hononga (Chief Maori Strategy & Relationships Watercare) and the Strategy and Planning Business Partner will play a pivotal role in fostering and maintaining effective relationships with partners, stakeholders, and iwi Maori.
These interactions span across governance, regulatory, technical and operational areas, aiming to build trust and achieve successful outcomes.
Key responsibilities include: Establish and nurture enduring relationships with partners, stakeholders, and iwi Maori, focusing on key issues to foster mutual benefits and advocacy.
Enhance organisational and people capabilities to deliver Maori outcomes across various projects.
Lead engagement with mana whenua, ensuring priorities align with genuine treaty partnership principles and values.
Oversee and drive project management activities from strategy and planning through to implementation.
Strive to ensure that the Kia Ora Tamaki Makaurau framework priorities are achieved.
This role is based at our Head office in Newmarket, Auckland, and regular office attendance is essential.
In this role, you will bring: Relevant tertiary qualification in Business or Management Studies.
Proficient in Te Reo Maori and Tikanga.
Strong tribal knowledge and understanding.
Proven experience working with legislation and government processes and policies.
Experience engaging and communicating with Maori and mainstream community, stakeholders, and public interest groups.
Excellent verbal, interpersonal, and written communication abilities.
A strategic mindset and the ability to use initiative to be solutions-focused.
Ability to prioritise and manage a diverse workload in a fast-paced environment.
