About the role
We currently have an opportunity for a Strategic Planner to join our Strategic Planning team. With a reputation for innovative thinking and community engagement on sometimes hotly debated projects, our team of strategists needs someone who is a great communicator, a creative thinker, and can deliver high-quality strategic projects.
As our strategic planner, you will be working on, and leading, a variety of strategies, spatial planning, and urban development projects. You will have the opportunity to work on projects of different scales and locations from the community to the region, from the city to the rural coast. You will be researching background information, developing policy options, actively involved in consultation, and will finalize the project with tangata whenua, key stakeholders, and Elected Members.
You'll be part of a team with expertise in several areas including corporate planning, climate change adaptation, bylaw and statutory policy development, design, urban planning, and data analysis. As the successful candidate, you will complement this skill set but also bring along additional expertise in the Resource Management Act, Local Government Act, urban planning, or policy development that will expand the capability of the team.

The ability to work with multi-disciplinary project teams that have delivered high-quality planning outcomes
Engagement and consultation skills with a variety of different communities.
