Statistical Analyst - Data Development - Data, Statistics and Analytics

We are looking for a Statistical Analyst who is comfortable working with a range of data and can bring their technical capability and relationship management skills. If you have experience in data and an enthusiasm for making improvements to existing collections and developing new sources, then we want to hear from you. This is a great time to join our team, develop your skills, and have the ability to be involved in a variety of exciting projects.

This vacancy is open to both Wellington and Auckland-based candidates. Please note if you are Auckland-based you will be expected to travel to Wellington on occasion as required.

Te turanga - The role
The Statistical Analyst, Data Development reports to the Data Development Manager in the Data, Statistics & Analytics department. The Statistical Analyst will be supported by a team of experienced staff to use their expertise in statistical frameworks, tools, and methods to support data initiatives that will better enable data-driven decision-making at the Bank.

The data we work with comes from a range of sources, in the form of aggregated survey collections or more granular datasets - each requiring different tools to design, build, and utilize them well.

While our journey to the new data landscape is in transition, this is a perfect time to get involved and play an influential part in how our future systems and tools will function. You will spend some hands-on time learning our current systems (including FSIS), which will give you the knowledge to be involved in future-focused discussions and work to improve our processes in the short, medium, and longer term.

In addition to contributing to specific projects, the Statistical Analyst will be supported to own their own small projects, develop leadership skills, and manage relationships across the organisation.

The Statistical Analyst Data Development is expected to collaborate effectively within and across departments to achieve the RBNZ's objectives and drive initiatives to transform processes and obtain more value from data and statistics.
