We are committed to offering our guests an unforgettable journey through the cosmos, providing them with an opportunity to connect with the wonders of the night sky like never before.Job Description:Are you passionate about astronomy and the wonders of the night sky? Do you have a deep appreciation for the beauty of Lake Tekapo and its night skies? If so, we have an exciting opportunity for you to join our team as a Stargazing Guide.Responsibilities:As a Stargazing Guide, you will:Conduct Stargazing Tours: Lead groups of guests on stargazing tours, providing them with informative and engaging commentary about celestial objects, constellations, and the science behind them.Operate Telescopes: Set up and operate our telescopes and other astronomical equipment to give guests an up-close view of planets, galaxies, and other celestial wonders.Share Knowledge: Share your passion for astronomy and Lake Tekapo's unique night skies with guests, answering their questions and fostering a deeper appreciation for the cosmos.Ensure Guest Safety: Prioritize the safety and well-being of guests during stargazing activities, including maintaining equipment and adhering to safety protocols.Contribute to Outreach Programs: Participate in community outreach and educational programs to promote astronomy and environmental conservation.Admin: Reply to emails or perform small administrative tasks.Qualifications and Skills:A strong passion for astronomy and a deep knowledge of celestial objects, constellations, and night sky phenomena.Excellent communication and public speaking skills.
