The Area Manager will be responsible for all Landscape SBU's sales and market share growth in UK and Scandinavia. Responsibilities include the development & implementation of a strategic plan, sales plan, business development, and Strategic Accounts Management. Area Managers work with the team on ground within a geographic territory and are measured on revenue production and market share improvement. The successful candidate must be willing to travel extensively, and must be technically competent, a sound presenter, results-oriented, highly self-motivated, and ideally will have Irrigation industry experience.This person will operate as a partner and consultant for customers by developing a thorough understanding of their business and of the industry so that they can identify their needs and recommend the Rain Bird solutions that meet those needs. Customers include Strategic Accounts, contractors, architects, specifiers, dealers, consultants, municipalities, and distributors.ResponsibilitiesDeveloping and Managing Strategic Accounts in the region (Distribution Channels, Municipalities, End Users, Developers, Contractors, Traders, and Retailers).Growing product sales ahead of the market.Growing the brand and market presence and increasing the market share of Rain Bird.Identifying and developing new business opportunities.Building and maintaining strong relationships with Key Decision Makers, Influencers, and Specifiers.Leading the required sales activities, workshops, training, marketing, and promotions for the Strategic Accounts.The successful candidate must have a "hands-on" approach to management, must be a highly motivated individual, and a self-starter who thrives on challenges. High levels of commercial acumen and strategic aptitude will be key to success in this role, as will excellent organization and planning skills, and a keen ability to effectively manage competing priorities.Business-to-Business sales experience in the landscape, agricultural and golf industrial products or similar industries will be a major advantage. The successful candidate must also have a demonstrated ability to build rapport and develop strong customer relationships and should have a proven record of accomplishment of delivering growth.QualificationsMinimum Qualifications:+8 years' experience in sales, specification, or marketing.+3 years management or supervisory experience.BA or BS degree or similar qualification.Ability to communicate clearly and concisely in both verbal and written form.Proactive, self-driven individual who achieves results both individually, and through team leadership.Strategic thinking, strong interpersonal skills, and the ability to deal effectively with people at all levels, from a wide range of business functions.An individual who values attention to detail, is committed to quality, and strives to deliver beyond expectations.Willingness to accept new challenges, and a strong desire to grow within the organization.Fluency in English (verbal and written).Desired Qualifications:MBA.Fluency in another European language.Mechanical / Electrical / Irrigation / Agriculture Engineering.Irrigation experience (including design and installation).Experience in working within a multinational organization.
