Seeking a senior systems engineer for a remote experiment program operated in the Atacama Desert of Chile. The experiment is transitioning from development into operations. Assistance is required in documenting the existing system and completing the integration, test, and verification (IT&V) of the numerous subsystems with staff in the US, Japan, and Chile. Responsibilities include documentation and review of mechanical and electrical subsystems, working closely with site teams in Chile and project and program management in the US and Japan.
About the Project:
Telescope construction involving radio astronomy, systems engineering practices, Mechanical Engineering. This is not a software position. Will be working with the Physics Department on the Simons Array and Simons Observatory. This is a short-term position lasting probably more than one year and up to two years.
Requirements:

5 years of experience in engineering construction and remote operations
Bilingual (English and Spanish)
Experience with Lifecycle engineering
Experience with documentation development and management
Experience with requirements and interface definitions
Experience with Integration, test, and verification of parts, components, and subsystems
Experience with software tools for mechanical engineering (SolidWorks), ticketing (Zendesk), and word processing (Microsoft/Google)
Education:
Bachelors/Masters degree in mechanical engineering
