Salary : $77 087 - $104 794 per annum

An exciting fixed-term opportunity with an experienced team to support you, awaits the successful candidate. You will be exposed to in-patient, out-patient and community settings, across a variety of adult populations.

The current SLT team at Hutt hospital comprises a small number of experienced, caring, innovative and flexible professionals who are delighted to be able to sustain their current service offering, with your assistance, while one of the team is on parental leave. We provide a rich learning environment in a hospital setting, that encompasses exposure to a broad variety of specialities.

Mou - About you

Essential qualifications, skills and experience in the ideal candidate:

Knowledge, Skills & Experience:

2 years + clinical practice would be preferred; New Graduates can be accommodated

Clinical experience within the areas of Adult out-patients, Adult Community patients, and/or Inpatient wards is preferable

Clinical experience doing swallowing assessments (bedside assessments as well as instrumental assessments)

Experience providing communication solutions for patients with complex communication difficulties/needs

Essential Professional Qualifications / Accreditations / Registrations:

NZSTA Annual Practising Certificate

Current member of the NZSTA

Qualification with an NZSTA accredited or approved Speech-language Therapy program (BSc. SLT / MSLTPrac)

Dysphagia trained (recognised under/post graduate cert.)

Someone well-suited to the role will place a high value on the following:
