We are seeking a Specialist Trustee to join our Rural Properties team in the Hawkes Bay (or adjacent areas).
In this role, you will support Public Trust by providing exceptional, professional, customer-focused service for rural land and farm operations within complex estates, trusts, and PA/PPPRs.
You will partner with trustees and supporting teams to ensure exemplary service and an excellent customer experience.
This is a varied and challenging role, and responsibilities include: Trustee Management: Provide end-to-end advisory services, including investment strategies, estate planning, trust administration, and PA/PPPR management.
Contract Management: Manage high-complexity rural property contracts and proactively generate revenue growth opportunities.
Customer Experience: Deliver outstanding customer service, resolve complaints, and ensure customer feedback is managed appropriately.
People Leadership: Manage and coach farm managers, ensure compliance with employment and health & safety policies, and lead the employment process for farm employees.
Farm Responsibilities: Conduct farm inspections, manage relationships with lessees, sharemilkers, and farm advisors, manage budgets, ensure compliance with legislation, and oversee sale or purchase processes if required.
Teamwork: Collaborate with colleagues to ensure the success of the Rural Properties team and share knowledge and best practices.

You will be comfortable building relationships with a wide range of people and demonstrate strong empathic skills.
You will need to be comfortable working as part of a remote team where your team and leadership interactions may predominantly take place online.
Ideally, you will possess the following attributes: 4+ years in a customer-facing financial services/legal role/Accounting role Background or interest in the farming industry.
Strong time management and prioritisation skills The ability to have quality conversations with stakeholders and communicate well in writing Strong interpersonal skills Strong commercial acumen, valuing time and effectively managing the fees and costs of estate delivery Proven ability to resolve complex challenges You'll be joining a highly collaborative team where you'll have the opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of New Zealanders.
