Location : Christchurch
Salary : £12.82 per hour
Start Date : ASAP
Contract Type : Temporary (with scope to become permanent)
Are you passionate about supporting children with Special Educational Needs (SEN) ? GSL Education are excited to offer a fantastic opportunity for a Special Educational Needs Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming co-educational primary school in Christchurch. This temporary role, with the potential to become permanent, allows you to make a meaningful impact in a nurturing, child-centred environment.

As a Special Educational Needs Teaching Assistant , you will provide essential support to students with special educational needs, ensuring they have the tools and guidance necessary to thrive both academically and socially.
Responsibilities:
Support students with special educational needs in their learning and development.
Work closely with teachers and other staff to create a positive learning environment.
Provide one-to-one and small group support where required.
Assist with planning and delivering tailored educational activities.
Help monitor and track students' progress, offering feedback to teachers and parents.
Requirements:
A genuine passion for supporting children with additional needs.
Patience, empathy, and excellent communication skills.
The ability to work as part of a team and follow guidance from teaching staff.
Previous experience as a Special Educational Needs Teaching Assistant is desirable but not essential.
Have an updated CV (covering last ten years barring any unexplained gaps) and an enhanced DBS registered to the update service (or be willing to apply for one).
Please be advised that this role requires a strong knowledge and understanding of safeguarding and child protection and that successful applicants must satisfy all background safer recruitment checks including an enhanced DBS on the update service.
