Are you a passionate chef looking for a rewarding opportunity in a supportive environment? Burnham Military Camp is seeking an experienced Permanent full-time Sous Chef to join our culinary team. Where, truly no two days are the same. Burnham Military Camp in Burnham, located 28km south of Christchurch. Great work-life balance, no late finishes. Finish by 7pm at the latest.
Position available from Monday 1 January 2024.
Responsibilities: Assist in the preparation and cooking of meals for large groups.
Supervisor of kitchen staff during both weekend days.
Oversee food safety and hygiene practices.
Manage inventory, including ordering and stock control.
Collaborate with the Head Chef on menu planning and bulk cooking.
Previous experience in bulk cooking is essential.
Easy can-do attitude is required for the environment.
Supervisory experience, some previous experience in rostering and ordering preferable.
Strong knowledge of safe food handling practices, including the use of Safe Food Pro.
