SOUS CHEF - ELEPHANT HILL WINERY RESTAURANTCompetitive remuneration packageHawkes Bay, Full Time, HospitalityPlease Quote Reference Number 97962Excellent opportunity to join our award-winning restaurantDestination winery & restaurant - Elephant HillTalented Sous Chef required, to work at an award-winning winery cellar door restaurant.Under the guidance of Head Chef Ben Cruse, you will be assisting in the day-to-day running of the Elephant Hill kitchen and food preparation.Our restaurant offers lunch Friday to Monday, a Friday evening wine bar, and Sunday brunch.You must prove you have:Creative flair, a keen eye for detail, and a passion for your craft.Experience working in a quality, fast-paced kitchen.A good understanding of classic and modern techniques across all sections in the kitchen.A commitment to quality, innovation, sustainability, and a love of food.Your key responsibilities will be:Working closely with the head chef in a small tight-knit team to produce simple, quality, and flavour-focused food.Taking charge of the kitchen in the absence of the head chef, needing the ability to take the lead and ensure standards are met.Assisting in menu planning, using seasonal and local ingredients.We will offer:Mainly daytime lunch shifts Sat-Mon with later opening on Fri.Occasional evening functions and Thurs prep shift.A competitive remuneration package and a supportive and friendly work environment.A high profile, luxury, destination winery & restaurant (2018 Cuisine Winery restaurant of the Year).Work with some of the finest wines in New Zealand, in a spacious, modern high-end kitchen.A small and friendly FOH team, management, administration, vineyard, and winemaking all on site.Generous staff discounts and wine allowance.You must be a NZ resident or citizen and/or have the right to work in New Zealand.
