As well as providing Ambulance Services, our programmes and team of over 11,000 staff and volunteers are helping to build strong, resilient communities across the motu; supporting everyone in Aotearoa to live healthier, happier and longer lives.Job DescriptionHe aha te turanga - About the role:Due to the complexity of our organisation and nature of our business, we are required to support the needs of a hugely diverse range of users.The Application Support role provides advice and assistance to users of the software and responds to problems that can either occur abruptly or after a software implementation that may require immediate analysis and resolution.
In this 12-month, fixed-term position, you will:Support the continuous development and improvement of applications by having an informed understanding of the ambulance operations environment / practices, providing recommendations / suggestions and supporting the development and implementation of upgrades.Support the maintenance of data / information captured by the applications to ensure the integrity of the data (both in quality and security).Identify issues, and risks (actual and potential) to the application and make recommendations to resolve and facilitate in their resolution.Build and maintain relationships of credibility with colleagues and stakeholders / operations managers, acting on an informed understanding of the organisation and the external environment to provide consistently professional, informed advice and support.Contribute to an agile and resilient workplace through consistent support for business continuity, including application and the promotion of associated initiative, policy, plans and risk management to help achieve St John's objective of building resilient communities.QualificationsKo wai koe - About you:Tertiary qualification in relevant field preferred (i.e., Business Administration, Information Systems, Computing Studies, or Information Technology).Possessing specialist knowledge of operating systems, device, applications and software.Experience managing telephony systems preferred.Ability to explain application issues across all levels of stakeholders.Exceptional verbal and written communication skills – including ability to explain technical concepts in easy-to-understand language for non-technicians.Experience working in a 24/7/365 organisation as occasional work out of 'normal work hours' is expected.Additional InformationMe pehea te tuku tono - How to applyClick "I'm interested" before applications close on 15 January 2025.Please note, the Recruitment team will be taking a break for the festive season from Friday, 20 December, returning on Monday, 6 January.
