As part of a supportive team invested in your success, this opportunity offers you unrivalled growth potential, client contact from the get-go, a top-tier salary, extra benefits, and flexible working.The opportunityIn this role, you'll work with a diverse client base which includes both domestic and international financial institutions, regulators, FinTech enterprises, and other financial service providers such as banks, fund managers, financial advice providers, brokers, payments businesses, and cryptocurrency service providers, all extending across New Zealand and abroad.This includes work in relation to:the provision of financial services and the establishment, governance and disclosure of offers of financial productsfinancial product design, establishment and distributionconduct and regulatory oversight of financial services businessesfinancial advice and related product distribution arrangementsFintechs and payments (including new product structuring)licensing and prudential supervision requirementsfinancial services regulatory advice including climate reporting, AML/CFT compliance, CCCFA, etc.Your teamYou will have the opportunity to work with the entire financial services team at Buddle Findlay, but in particular, you will work closely with Scott Abel, partner, who is a leader in this field and who heads up the team, and Andrew Suggate, senior associate, who has a wealth of experience in New Zealand and the United Kingdom advising clients on a range of FSR issues. Recently, Andrew participated as a panelist at the Financial Services Federation conference, where he discussed the impact of regulatory changes in the financial services industry.What matters to usWe are looking for someone with a keen interest in this area and interested in developing their career in financial services law.
