Our client is a market leading company, that supplies hygiene, storage, signage, cleaning, and food safety products to the food processing and manufacturing industries of New Zealand. The Opportunity:
They are seeking a proactive Sole Charge Warehouse Supervisor to oversee the daily operations of their Wiri-based warehouse. Their NZ team is small and close knit, and they are part of a very successful, much larger global company.
It will be a very hands-on role, almost a sole charge position, supported by a part time warehouse person. It will involve you performing the normal day-to-day warehousing duties of managing the movement of inwards and outwards stock etc. However, the right person for this role will be someone who enjoys looking for ways to improve processes and optimize a warehousing operation.
With the projected business growth, there are plans to increase the capacity and efficiency of the current warehouse, including upgrading racking systems, creating new bin locations and optimizing warehouse processes.
So, someone who enjoys identifying ways to improve an operation will have plenty to get involved with. There will be plenty of projects to get stuck into alongside the day to day running of the warehouse.
This role could suit a Senior Store person looking for career development, or a Sole Charge Warehouse Supervisor looking to take ownership.
Some of your responsibilities will include:
Manage the day-to-day warehousing functions, including stock movement, order fulfilment, and inventory management.
Hands on involvement in all warehousing functions and first point of contact for all warehouse queries
Supervise a part-time warehouse assistant and temporary staff as needed.
Fulfilling administration duties and required reporting
Ensures any stock movement is accurately record in the WHS
Accurately pick, pack, label, and dispatch orders while addressing any returns or discrepancies.
Maintain accurate records in the Warehouse Management System (WMS).
Ensure a clean, organized, and safe working environment, adhering to health and safety regulations.
Involved in completing stocktakes.
Operating a forklift.
Identifies opportunities for continuous operational improvement.
About You:
4+ years hands-on experience in a Warehousing/ Distribution function
Some Team Leadership/ Supervisory experience is preferred, or those who have held a senior role within the team and is looking for progression.
Responsible attitude. Reliable. A good work ethic.
A good team member who will enjoy taking ownership of the warehouse function.
Effectively manages priorities, displaying use of initiative.
Confident computer skills & WHM systems (Attache would be a bonus)
Strong problem solver planner, solution finder – glass half full outlook.
Enjoys creating ways to improve the operation and optimizing productivity.
Values accuracy and has strong attention to detail.
Health & Safety focused
Confident using a forklift. Has current forklift license.
Hours: Monday to Friday – 8am to 4:30pm. (Or 8:30am – 5pm)
