Software Tester (6-month contract) Position: Software Tester Location: Christchurch Duration: 6-month contract, opportunity for permanent position Role Description: Canterbury Seismic are looking for a skilled Software Tester to join our team to assist us in bringing a new and exciting piece of technology up to a production level.
You will have the opportunity to design and introduce testing solutions to provide invaluable Quality Assurance to our software services in the seismic engineering industry.
Initially on a fixed-term assignment of 6 months, there will be the possibility of extension into a permanent role for the right individual.
Key Responsibilities: Introduce, build and maintain robust automated testing procedures for complex software solutions.Introduce a combination of functional, integration, and end-to-end system tests to provide meaningful impact to our systems.Participate actively in the triage process, providing a timely assessment of encountered issues with severity evaluations.Work closely with the software development team to communicate issues and verify solutions.The ideal applicant will have the following: Minimum of 5 years' experience in a software testing position.A minimum of a Bachelor's degree in a related field or the equivalent professional experience.Proficiency in Java or Kotlin programming languages for writing test automation scripts.Experience creating and executing test plans.Experience with API testing and related tools.Good verbal and written communication skills to communicate issues back to the development team using bug tracking tools.Experience using Python, C++ and Flutter would be considered a bonus.Practical experience working with databases would be considered a bonus.Who We Are: Canterbury Seismic is a leading electronics manufacturer and software services provider in the seismic engineering industry.
