Syos Aerospace, an innovative tech company developing UAVs, USVs, and UGVs based in Mount Maunganui, is seeking a talented Software Engineer with a high level of C++ experience to join our talented team.
About the Company: Syos Aerospace is a pioneering company focused on developing industry-leading utilitarian autonomous vehicles across air, land, and sea.
Syos' family of utilitarian vehicles includes a 450kg helicopter UAV, a 6-meter boat USV, and 6-wheeler UGVs, all powered with Syos' control system featuring various advanced computer vision, swarming, and communication systems.
Job Responsibilities: Develop and support software applications.
Collaborate with other engineers throughout the development process.
Design, implement, integrate, and test software in C++.
Develop documentation for software.
Maintain a Git repository and complete documentation for all contributed code.
Serve as subject matter expert of the software implementation.
Stay updated with the latest technological advancements and industry trends to incorporate innovative solutions into designs.
Qualifications and Skills: A Bachelor's degree in computer science, electrical engineering, computer engineering, or equivalent technical discipline.
3+ years of proven applicable experience in software development.
Software development experience within a Linux environment.
Development experience in C++ language.
Experience with Git (or similar source code management tool) and CI/CD pipelines.
Strong written and verbal communication skills to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams.
Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently as well as in a team.
Passion for robotics and a desire to contribute to the growth of the unmanned/autonomous systems industry.
Preferred Experience (but not essential): Software testing methods.
Familiarity with Agile software development practices.
Experience in leading projects.
