Through working together our goals and objectives will be achievedThe Poutoko Iwi (o Ngapuhi) Iwi Social Work Practitioner is responsible for the delivery of specific whanau-based services in either the Education or justice areas or in specifically whanau centred situations.
This could entail working in mokopuna safety and whakapapa protection, youth services and whanau centred approaches for the wellbeing of whanau, hapu and the wider Hapori.
Notably the individual kaimahi can work at various times in the delivery of services across a number of given pieces of mahi.WHO WE ARE LOOKING FORThe successful applicant will have excellent communication and relationship-building skills, along with an understanding of te reo me ona tikanga Maori as it relates to Ngapuhi.
You will have high emotional intelligence and analysis skills, with the ability to manage risk and prepare financial plans.
Existing connections and participation within community networks, hapu, iwi and marae is desired.A social work qualification recognised by the Social Workers Registration Board and a full, clean driver's license are essential.
Ngapuhi Iwi Social Services (NISS) was originally established in 1986 to provide Maatua Whangai services and became a section 396 provider in 1996.
In 2006, NISS became a subsidiary of Te Runanga-A-Iwi-O-Ngapuhi.
For over 30 years, NISS has provided successful iwi-based and whanau-centred services in and around the mid-north as one of the largest iwi social service providers in Aotearoa.Our kaimahi are knowledgeable, capable and passionate about working with whanau, hapu and Iwi.
