They play a critical role in ensuring financial information is accurate, providing insightful analysis and commentary for aiding decision-making, and collaborating across teams in solving business problems.
In this role, you will work alongside the Senior Manager for Financial Markets Accounting in all aspects of finance support for the Institutional Banking & Global Markets and Treasury business for both ASB and CBA NZ Branch. This includes daily P&L control, monthly financial accounting, management reporting, and analysis.
You'll develop a deep understanding of how the bank manages its financial risks. The role also includes the production of monthly, quarterly, half-yearly, and annual Group Statutory and Regulatory disclosures that involve financial markets instruments, along with providing appropriate analysis and commentaries to senior stakeholders including the CEO of NZ Branch and the CFO for ASB.

Success in this role will be evidenced by becoming recognized as the finance business partner for the Institutional Banking & Global Markets and Treasury business. We therefore seek candidates with strong financial and management accounting skills along with a general understanding of treasury instruments and exposure to banking product systems. Excellent business writing skills and experience preparing reports and papers for senior management are important.
As one of the most exciting and technically challenging areas in the bank's finance function, we are seeking candidates with:Experience working in big four audit firms or large corporate finance functions;Exposure to Treasury and/or Financial Markets activities and derivative products.A CA qualification (or nearing completion) would be beneficial.This is a fantastic opportunity to take the next step in your finance career and enjoy an up-close and personal view of key drivers, trends, and economic factors that influence financial results for Institutional Banking and Global Markets.
