Site Manager - Thames Sawmill and Drymill Operations Claymark Group Limited is New Zealand's largest manufacturer and exporter of premium pine products made safely from sustainably managed radiata pine plantations in New Zealand's central North Island. Employing over 680 employees across seven sites, Claymark is experiencing growth and expansion under new ownership. We are looking for a dynamic Site Manager to lead and grow our Thames sites. Our ideal candidate will have relevant experience in leading high performing manufacturing teams. Prior experience in leading sawmills and remanufacturing plants would be an advantage. You will have a strong track record in continuous improvement and dynamic problem solving. You will be highly organised with strong attention to detail, dealing with any issues positively and effectively. You will be a people leader who works with their team to achieve exceptional results through active communication, flexibility, innovation, data analysis, and a team approach to leadership. Key Functions and Duties: Deliver on time safe production to the required high standard. Drive proactive strategies to ensure long term sustainable operations. All Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) targets are achieved i.e., conversion, recovery, etc. Maintenance of plant and equipment is of the highest standard. Change management processes and behaviours improve the culture on all sites. Person Specifications: Proven ability to deliver daily, weekly, and monthly production targets. Ability to provide strong leadership to the organisation and its stakeholders and employees. An effective team player. Experience in budget and strategy setting, implementation, and achievement. Excellent organisational skills, high level of accuracy, and attention to detail. Ability to work to deadlines while providing value-adding internal customer service. Strong ability to communicate clearly, concisely, and sensitively. Excellent time management and project management skills. Experience in the manufacturing environment preferred. Forestry or timber manufacturing experience is an advantage. Senior roles at this level in Thames are rare.
