Manager Corporate Services and Finance Auckland or Wellington The Serious Fraud Office (SFO) is a highly specialised government department whose mission is to disrupt and deter serious complex fraud through prevention, investigation, and prosecution.
We take pride in the work we do to keep New Zealand safe from fraud and corruption.
We employ a clever team of lawyers, accountants, investigators, and electronic forensic, counter fraud, and policy experts to do just that.
Importantly, we have a small support team that enables them to focus on their work.
Numbering eighty, we are a cohesive team with a strong sense of justice and a vibrant culture.
The SFO seeks a highly accomplished people leader to join our senior leadership team as Manager Corporate Services and Finance.
This role is preferably based in Commercial Bay, Auckland CBD; however, we will also consider Wellington-based applicants.
It is a full-time permanent employment status role.
In this role, you will report to our Deputy Chief Executive Legal and Corporate and lead our Finance, People and Culture, and ICT teams (six people).
As an SLT member, you will share responsibility for the delivery of the SFO's strategic priorities.
You will hold the designation and duties of Chief Security Officer, overseeing our approach to risk, security, and safety.
You will be responsible for the financial management, financial performance and sustainability, and statutory reporting obligations of the SFO.
You will engage with external vendors and stakeholders and deliver significant projects.
You will collaborate with specialists and stakeholders on CapEx and OpEx business cases and procurement initiatives.
Your three Principal level direct reports and their teams are subject matter experts and operational deliverers in their field, requiring strategic oversight and mentoring from you.
To be successful in this role, you will have significant accomplishments as a senior leader, ideally in the public sector.
You have comprehensive knowledge about the machinery of government and have worked extensively in cross-agency engagement.
To have credibility with your team, and capability to deliver your remit, you will have had success leading an integrated corporate services function.
You will also have a relevant tertiary qualification.
You have the ability to quickly understand facts and complexities, you can research, use data, perform detailed analysis, and deliver advice and recommendations in a succinct and effective manner.

We offer an additional week of annual leave that covers the three usual workdays between Christmas and New Year plus two days to use at our discretion.
Each year we are allocated 20 days of sick leave, with no initial stand-down period, which can be accumulated to a maximum balance of 260 days.
