Nga kawenga | About the role In this dynamic leadership role, you'll respond to operational needs where no two days are alike. You'll set the strategy and direction for your team, focusing on long-term improvements and driving continuous progress. Building strong partnerships with other government agencies, NGOs and community organisations will be essential to delivering comprehensive support for whanau and people in our care. Your leadership will have a direct impact on improving safety and well-being, creating meaningful opportunities for positive change and lasting solutions in the community. Based at one of our Christchurch Service Centres, this role offers you the opportunity to showcase your ability to achieve outcomes through others, to live the values of Ara Poutama Aotearoa, prove your capability as a true leader and to show determination to strive for high performance in line with our organisational strategies. In other words, be a driver of success for our strategy Hokai Rangi, which has the foundation of success of a values-led organisation. By providing professional leadership in all aspects of practice, legislation, and offender management, you will maintain quality standards and ensure statutory obligations in line with Department policy. We're looking for an inspirational leader, with strong business acumen who can respond calmly in a dynamic environment. You'll need to: Be a strong and visible leader who engages and motivates staff. Excel at identifying risks as they arise, whether in dynamic situations or routine operations. Keep your team focused and aligned in a fast-paced, ever-changing environment. Be confident in working with external stakeholders and leveraging the relationship effectively. Focus on innovation, continuous improvement, and best practice implementation, championing regional and national initiatives. Be committed to staff development and performance improvement in a change environment. Have the ability to understand & respect different cultural perspectives, particularly in relation to te ao Maori. The salary for this role is Scale B in the Frontline Managers Collective $102,414.
