The role is also responsible for building a culture of high-performance centred on innovation, collaboration and technical capability that transforms the way in which we design and deliver transport projects within a digital environment.You will be responsible for growing the service line by providing expert consulting services to clients on across all projects within Transport. By leading, growing and developing a market leading team of approximately 30 FTE, you will also support the strategic growth of the business through outstanding service delivery and positioning our capability as #1 in the market.Develop business to business growth and sales plans, including implementation of sub sector and service line strategies, client strategies and market development strategies.Lead and build a high-performance learning organisation with a culture of exceptional collaboration, and role model values and desired behaviours.Promote effective teamwork, proactively encouraging working collaboratively across boundaries.Act as a Senior Project Manager/Project Director with a strong focus on service excellence for Transport Design projects.Effectively plan projects and assist project managers to correctly scope their projects with appropriate inputs, outputs, implementation activities, verification and technical review.Provide operational management and leadership of the service line to achieve exceptional outcomes for our clients and our stakeholders through maximising commercial, people and project outcomes.Ensure that service lines are connected and work seamlessly with other service lines, sub-sectors, and other operational parts of the business.Manage the service line, creating a sustainable and balanced team structure.Partner with the leadership team to drive business efficiencies and performance.Lead staff in Transport Design to maximise their career satisfaction, augment their skills and ensure successful project outcomes.Manage the pipeline to create a sustainable long term business model.Provide empowerment, guidance and governance of the Team Leaders, Technical Principals and senior members within the group.Contribute to the success of our business in meeting its business and strategic objectives by providing appropriate technical advice and ensuring effective management of clients, staff and projects.Participate in business development, business and strategic planning for the Transport team.Prepare and lead client presentations and/or proposals.About you:Relevant tertiary qualification in Engineering required (Civil or Transport Engineering preferred)CPEng accreditation or ability to gain it within a 9 month period. CMEngNZ (Engineering Technologist) will also be considered.Appropriate WSP PMAF accreditation or equivalent.Preferably minimum of 10 years' professional experience in a design delivery related discipline.Preferably minimum of 5 years' experience in an infrastructure design related management position.Demonstrated ability and experience in software used within the Service Line such as (OpenRoads, Civil3D, 12D, etc).Demonstrated ability to lead and manage teams.Expertise in service line – recognised name within NZ as leader in delivering the service.WSP NZ has proudly earned its place among the top five employers to work for in Aotearoa New Zealand, as recognised in Randstad's latest employer survey.
