As the Senior Liability Underwriter, you'll play a pivotal role in driving profitable growth within our allocated portfolio through specialized underwriting services. Your main responsibilities will include adhering to underwriting guidelines, monitoring portfolio performance, and spotting new business opportunities.
You'll also be instrumental in developing our Liability portfolio, ensuring its growth aligns with our profitability goals. Collaboration is key in this role, as you'll work closely with the Liability team and other units to support and enhance overall processes. Your keen eye for improvement will be invaluable as you identify opportunities for upselling and cross-selling within the team.

This is a permanent full-time opportunity with hybrid working conditions and is open to any IAG office locations in New Zealand, with a preference for Auckland.
In order to be successful in this role, you'll ideally meet the below criteria:

Strong experience in liability underwriting.
Sound understanding of other general insurance functions and inter-relationships.
Experience in relationship management at a senior level within the insurance broker market.
Proven track record in developing business opportunities and profitable sales.
Extensive understanding of general risk insurance industry.
In-depth professional risks underwriting knowledge.
Diploma in insurance (preferred).
