About the roleAs Senior Treasury Accountant, you will report to the Senior Manager - Treasury and Financial Markets Accounting with primary focus on finance business partnering to Treasury. You will be involved in all aspects of finance support of the Global Markets and Treasury operations of ASB as well as the CBANZ branch, including daily and monthly reporting, analysis and commentary, and regulatory reporting.This role includes the review and production of monthly, quarterly, half-yearly, and annual Group, Statutory, and Regulatory disclosures that involve treasury and financial markets instruments.As part of an energetic and supportive team, you will engage with and build relationships with other areas of the business, contribute to the continual enhancement of the financial control environment, and become a trusted advisor on core financial information under your responsibility.This role is a great opportunity to build a career in the Treasury accounting team and develop a thorough understanding of derivatives, hedge accounting practices, and how Treasury manages the bank's balance sheet risks.What you will bringAs one of the most exciting and technically challenging areas in the bank's finance function, we are seeking candidates with experience working in big four audit functions or large corporate finance functions, with exposure to Treasury and/or Financial Markets activities and derivative products.
You will have a strong understanding of general accounting concepts, good numerical reasoning skills, and a proactive attitude with a track record of finding new and better ways of doing things. A CA qualification (or nearing completion) would be beneficial.
