Full time, fixed term - six months2IC to the Manager Financial SystemsOpportunity to make a lasting impact through system improvementsT1 experience is a mustYouOur Senior Systems Accountant is the Finance Group expert on improving business practices and the way we work with systems, uplift system literacy and capability in Finance and across the wider organisation. This role is also envisaged to be the technical expert for the Finance related modules of our Finance Management Information System (FMIS) and deputise for the Manager FMIS.As an expert for Finance, key areas of responsibility encompass:Provide high quality functional financial systems expertise and advice to internal and external clients.Ownership for system solutions that reflect the effective use of the system and process improvements, in particular for automation.Represent the Council on any relevant user groups for the financial system.Provide guidance and advice on system capabilities and options to the business and develop solutions.Supporting and leading business cases relating to financial systems or data changes.RoleWe want you to be successful in our environment so you will need to have at least 5 years of experience with financial systems in a relevant role, coupled with strong demonstrable knowledge of and experience in:Our TechOne ERP System OneCouncil, CiA and Ci.Best practice for financial system and data hygiene and maintenance.Financial planning, financial systems and/or budgetary reporting.The ability to understand the impact of system maintenance and upgrades on the Finance systems and assist the technology teams and Finance SMEs to implement upgrades.The ability to review existing financial systems capabilities to identify systems improvements and consulting opportunities.Functional system development, e.g. workflow configuration.We are looking for someone who can think outside the box, work autonomously, think proactively, and thrive on improvements and change.The TeamThe team is close-knit, supportive, and enjoys innovating and focusing on continuous improvement.The LeaderReporting into Jana Froehlich - a warm, engaging and empowering leader, you will be embraced by this collaborative team who work in a trust environment with a focus on wellbeing.Why us?We're Working for Wellington.
