Senior Support Officer, Financial Accounting - Finance at Ministry of Health, WellingtonSenior Support Officer required to join a busy Financial Accounting team to fulfill our Accounts Receivable functionPermanent, Wellington based roleSalary midpoint of $64,877, actual salary dependent on your experienceThe Financial Accounting team is responsible for running the day-to-day financial operations for the Ministry, including Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Purchasing functions, through to preparing financial statements and the analysis of financial data.
Ko ake mahi - What you'll do The Senior Support Officer is responsible for performing and supporting the daily management of financial processing functions within the Financial Accounting team, with a focus on the Accounts Receivables function for the Ministry. In this role you will be actively collaborating and engaging with colleagues across the business to ensure the team meets its objectives.
Daily tasks may include:
Daily processing of Accounts Receivable, including invoicing, receipting of payments, and the analysis of overdue accountsAssisting with other tasks within the Financial Accounting team relating to Purchasing and Accounts PayableCollaborating across the Ministry to manage payment collectionInputting data into the finance systemsProviding prompt resolution to queries and excellent customer servicePreparing and providing information requested by stakeholders such as Audit NZ, Official Information Requests, and Select Committee questionsExperience in accurate financial processing and accounting software such as OracleHigh level of attention to detail and accuracyExcellent prioritisation skills, ability to take initiative, work under pressure and meet deadlines in an ambiguous and dynamic environmentRefined interpersonal skills with the ability to build and maintain working relationships to accomplish goalsAdvanced MS Excel skillsAt Manatu Hauora – Ministry of Health we are the kaitiaki of the health system, providing leadership and driving strategy and performance.
