Add expected salary to your profile for insightsWaihanga Ara Rau, the Construction and Infrastructure Workforce Development Council is looking for a Senior Strategy & Policy Advisor to listen to industry, understand what's important to them and help identify the role of education in supporting their workforce needs.Te ahua o te Tunga – The nature of the positionThe Senior Strategy & Policy Advisor is a fantastic opportunity for a pragmatic multitalented strategy and policy advisor who can take in a range of information and insights and generate easily understood evidence-based strategy that meets the outcomes of the industry and leads to increased economic and cultural prosperity for employers and learners. You will contribute to the development of funding advice to the Tertiary Education Commission (TEC) and the development of industry Workforce Development Plans (WDPs) to help industries and sectors communicate what is impacting workforce development and how the vocational education system can respond.This role would suit someone who genuinely enjoys working closely with a wide range of people and groups, thrives on asking questions and delivering valuable insights. The work we do is rewarding, the communities we work with and industries we support are busy, highly visible and ever-changing.This is a fixed-term role until 30 June 2025.Nga tino Pukenga/Wheako – Essential skills/qualifications/experiences for the roleThis role would suit someone who can:Identify and analyse issues, prepare and deliver advice to stakeholders.Develop and deliver improved solutions and strategic advice.Provide policy advice and guidance to internal and external stakeholders.Identify long-term trends and opportunities that will affect and impact industry policies.Contribute strategic advice within workforce development planning and TEC reporting.Monitor, evaluate and report on the work undertaken by strategy and insights team and provide analysis and interpretation of results and guidance on improved effectiveness.We are a workplace that values and utilises diverse and inclusive thinking, people and behaviours.
