Mo te turanga - About the role This role sits across our ANZ Payments Technology – Internationally and Domestically – with a partnership with our Australian counterparts.
The PSRE (Payments Site Reliability Engineering) Chapter works cohesively as an autonomous unit, but also collaboratively with the already existing independent build and run squads operating at ANZ.
The primary focus and purpose of the role will be to ensure that you are able to provide a technical role in managing the underlying platforms for the Payments Systems in operation.
You will play a critical role in ensuring our Payments technology maintains stability and availability to the highest standards to meet the Business Operational and Delivery objectives.
Your expertise in managing Unix/Linux operating system, networks engineering, and cloud technologies will be crucial in achieving our goals of Continuous Integration Continuous Development To ensure ANZ stay ahead of the curve, it is essential that this role is always moving forward and embracing a Continuous Integration Continuous Development pipeline and mind-set – always striving to operate at the penultimate level whilst adopting new, exciting and potentially challenging methodologies.
In this role you will: Have primary responsibility to operate in the Payments SRE Chapter with an initial focus of maintaining the underlying platforms of which Payments applications reside.
Collaborate with other members of the infrastructure engineering teams for managing and optimising the infrastructure for Payments in an on prem and in cloud environment Join a collaborative DevOps environment with a focus on continuous improvement and empowering others.
Be passionate about making change in the SRE environment and have a approachable personality to engage with stakeholders at varying levels.
Operate cohesively with our Australian equivalents to ensure that both NZ and AU systems are maintained effectively and efficiently.

- What will you bring?
To grow and be successful in this role, you will bring the following: Experience as a Site Reliability Engineer or have a full understanding of stack development and maintenance – essentially from a DevOps background.
Have a strong understanding of the principles of which DevOps and SRE in particular revolve.
Strong experience in managing Unix/Linux operations systems, access control, package creation, shell scripting, etc.
Strong Networks solution engineering and troubleshooting experience (Routing, VRF, DNS, load balancing, firewalls, etc.).
Solid knowledge in Cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, GCP).
knowledge in IaC and configuration management tools (e.g.
Terraform, Ansible) and scripting languages such as Python for automation tasks.
Understanding of CI/CD and experience with tools like Jenkins or Codefresh, etc.
Strong Troubleshooting Skills and ability to work autonomously and in a team environment.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills – being able to communicate at all levels.
Self-managing and a self-starter.
