The Opportunity Are you an experienced shepherd looking for a senior role where you can contribute? Join our team; you will learn about Whenuakite's varying land classes and different systems, which will develop your technical skills and experience.
In this varied role, you will:
Advise the Farm Manager on best practices for animal health and optimal pasture management.Monitor live weight production to ensure livestock performance, proactively managing pasture conditions to support growth.Oversee general farm maintenance to ensure operations run smoothly and efficiently.Propose innovative solutions and strategies to enhance farm productivity and sustainability.The Farm Whenuakite Farm is situated 20 minutes from Whitianga on the Coromandel Peninsula. This is 520 effective hectares, running efficient bull systems (EBS). The farm location offers a variety of recreational activities with many beaches within minutes.
About You You will be a passionate, experienced Shepherd or Senior Shepherd with a can-do attitude and strong work ethic looking for a new challenge.
You will need to have:
Proven experience, with demonstrable and recurring success in a similar shepherding roleGood stock sense and at least three to four genuine working dogsCommitment and a first-class attitude to health & safetyExcellent communication skillsEnjoy working in a team environmentA full and current NZ driver's licenseBenefits The position comes with a freshly redecorated two-bedroom home with a new double external garage.
