Senior Quantity Surveyor

Fletcher Wood Products (FWP) is a newly established business within the Building Products division of Fletcher Building. The business represents our re-entry into the wood sector and FWP encompasses sawmilling assets in Waipapa, a renewable fuels business and we are also constructing a new wood panel production plant in Taupo. The new plant will utilise innovative technology to produce cost competitive, high-quality products that have diverse applications in furniture, joinery and the broader construction sector. We're seeking an experienced Quantity Surveyor to join our project team in Taupo. This is a fixed-term role role for project duration with expected completion in late 2025. As a key member of our team you will provide technical support to assist delivery of our new $270m manufacturing plant in Taupo. As part of this role you will:
Provide guidance and advise on contracts and matters arising under contractsManagement of procurement and subcontractor/supplier administrationMonitor project progress, including tracking variations and claims.Preparation of tender documents, including bills of quantities and specifications.Collaborate with project teams to provide ongoing cost advice and guidanceMonthly cost reporting and accurate cost forecasting To be successful for this role, you will ideally have: Relevant tertiary qualification (or strong history of on-the-job experience)Extensive experience working on large commercial construction projects (ideally $30m +)Clear and definitive communication, both written and verbalExcellent time management skills with ability to manage competing prioritiesStrong attention to detailExperience in Procure is advantageous but not essential This is an opportunity to work with a high performing team on one of Taupo's largest projects offering challenge and scope.
