Our management structure includes a large number of in-house staff and a loyal and long serving sub-contractor base, this allows Waghorn to tackle multiple large scale residential and commercial projects concurrently whilst ensuring and maintaining full customer satisfaction throughout the process. We are on the hunt for a Senior Quantity Surveyor for residential and commercial construction to join our Christchurch based team. The applicant must be self-motivated, driven and have the ability to communicate well. Responsibilities: Prepare accurate cost estimates and budgets for residential and commercial construction projects. Conduct detailed quantity take-offs and pricing of materials and labour. Manage procurement processes and negotiate with suppliers and subcontractors. Monitor project costs, track variations, and ensure financial control throughout the project lifecycle. Collaborate with project managers, architects, and engineers to ensure cost-effective solutions and timely project delivery. Requirements: Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor within the New Zealand construction industry, focusing on residential and commercial projects. Bachelor's degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or related fields. Strong knowledge of construction methods, materials, and regulations. Proficiency in relevant software tools (e.g., CostX, Excel). Effective communication and negotiation abilities. Competitive salary based on experience and qualifications.
