The Trust is recruiting a Fixed Term Senior Project Specialist to initially work alongside (and then manage in the absence of the current incumbent), a range of construction projects collaboratively across the Trust team.
Specifically, the focus of this role is project management & co-ordination continuity for Ngati Whatua Orakei's new community sports and recreation hub in the heart of the Orakei neighborhood alongside a range of minor projects. You will likely come from a commercial construction or related professional services or trades background, seeking an opportunity to work on Projects that make a significant impact on the communities served.

Develop project planning, workflow, and reporting
Proven ability to optimise Project resources to achieve required outcomes and deadlines
Prioritise multiple tasks with competing deadlines
Proven ability to synthesize the dynamics of multiple projects and determine stakeholder strategies, contingency planning and planning reviews
Ability to clearly communicate project plans to internal and external key stakeholders
Prioritise multiple tasks and projects with competing priorities
Proven ability to manage large budgets and funding streams
Key accountabilities:
Develop and plan elements of work streams
Work with team to understand priorities, activities and commitment to milestones
Identify and manage issues and risks
Document process flow
Schedule and facilitate Project Team meetings
Demonstrates knowledge and commitment to Te Ao Maori
Key Capabilities
Extensive project management, project co-ordination or construction capital works experience (10 – 15 years)
Deep understanding and stakeholder relationships formed from years of working within Tamaki Makaurau
Superb judgement and decision making
Ideally a deep empathy for and ability to influence within an iwi context
Politically and commercially savvy
High attention to detail
Ability to balance high work achievement drive with collaboration and ability to influence to get the best outcomes

This is a fixed term contract due to a vacancy arising from maternity leave cover.
